People of Haiti in Desperate Need of Fresh Water

UltraPure Bottling Systems, a locally owned and operated water purification and bottling plant in Arlington Heights, is leading a campaign to send 100,000 bottles of fresh water to the citizens of Haiti.
We are working with Clean the World to facilitate the transportation of the water from their warehouses in Florida to the island of Haiti. Clean the World (CTW) is a non-profit, charitable organization that recycles soap, shampoo and lotion discarded by hotels, and distributes the recycled products worldwide to people who need it to prevent the spread of disease and death.
To succeed in our mission, we are asking other local businesses to sponsor one full skid (72 cases) of purified “Clean the World” bottled water which we will produce in our facility and ship to CTW headquarters. UltraPure is donating our facility and our labor to produce the water. We are simply asking other businesses to cover the cost of the materials.
The all-inclusive price for one skid of water is $699 delivered to Haiti.
This is a tax-deductible charitable donation or marketing expense.

Important Tax Information
Your valuable donation of fresh healthy water to the desperate people of Haiti can also benefit you at tax time. Both businesses and individuals should be allowed to take a deduction for their donation.
Businesses
Receipts for your donation will be issued from Clean The World so you can deduct your purchase as a charitable donation. Because UltraPure is providing additional promotional benefits to sponsors, you can claim your purchase as a marketing expense. Consult your tax professional as to which method offers your company the greater benefit.
Individuals
Receipts for your donation will be issued from Clean The World so you can deduct your purchase as a charitable donation.
2009 Tax Deductions
A bill has been proposed in Congress that will allow entities donating to the Haiti relief effort in 2010 to deduct their donations on their 2009 tax returns. Please check with your tax professional to see if this bill gets passed and if there is a benefit to you.
